Some action in Letshego (228t) and Sefalana (1075t) the main highlights today.
Today was all about Equity Bank. The banking group fell by 2.22% to KES33.00 with foreign buyers and local sellers most notable. The rest of the market was exceptionally dull.
Once again we saw some chunky crossing in MCBG with the banking group closing unchanged at Rs228.75. The rest of the market was uneventful.
We saw another plethora of results out today, these included Zenith Bank, Nestle, Seplat, Diamond Bank and GlaxoSmithKline. We also saw some action trying to return with local participants still heavily dominant across the board. Banks increased slightly by 39bps with some decent action witnessed in Zenith Bank (+68bps, N14.90) and Access Bank (+1.06%, N6.65). Consumers inched higher by 3bps although only NB (-17bps, N123.01) saw any reasonable trading.
Please note that the index figure above is correct at the time of writing.
A quiet day on the ZSE with technical issues once again blighting the session.
