A quiet end to the week and month in Botswana.
A rather dire day to end the week from an activity point of view in Nairobi as foreign participation fell to 59.8%. Safcom was the only name worth mentioning from a turnover point of view as the telco closed the day unchanged on 6.7m shares. Both major banking stocks KNCB and EQBNK closed the day flat on small volume.
An active end to the month in Mauritius mostly thanks to MCBG (+1.0%, Rs211.00) while there was also a cross in PBL (unch, Rs358.00).
Much of the same in Lagos to end the week with activity continuing to underwhelm. There was a small bit of activity in Zenith ($1.6m), NB ($1.1m) and Nestle ($1m) while the rest of the market was very dull. Banking stocks managed to close higher yet again with the sector gaining +0.94% thanks to Zenith (+3.42%). Consumers (+2.29%) had a strong day thanks to a good performance from NB as the brewer gained an impressive +4.99%.
Please note that the index figure above is correct at the time of writing.
A massive day in Harare today thanks to a couple of crosses in Delta. Delta also drove market direction as the name closed much higher at 70c.
