Botswana: DCI -0.01%, USD 818k:

Letshego (unch, $750k) trading 92% of the market turnover today the only name worth noting.

Kenya: NSE 20 -0.29%, USD 6.56m

Safcom (-2.86%, KES25.50) once again being the front runner on the Nairobi bourse today with almost a third of the market turnover amounting to $2.54m. Other counters worth mentioning are Equity (unch, KES43.75) and Bamburi (-1.07%, KES185.00). Once again foreign leading the way with 68% of the market sales.

Mauritius: Semdex -0.13%, USD 1.61m

The usual suspect MCBG (unch,Rs270) dominated almost half of today’s trades with strong foreign participation. SBMH was -0.5% to close at Rs7.82 on daily volume of 458k shares.

Nigeria: ASI -0.35%, USD 11.35m

A short trading day as the bourse opened late due to a technical glitch. There was some decent activity ahead of the long weekend. DANGCEM(+0.23%,$4.10m), NB(-2.69%,$1.71m) and GTB(-0.28%,$1.02m) drove the proceedings. Both the banking and consumer sectors dipped lower again to close -0.25% and -1.03% respectively.

Slight improvement in Harare today with volumes headlined by Seedco (174.15c, $297k) being almost half of the market turnover. Econet (48.85c, $105k) and Simbisa (47.00c, $36k) the only other names worth mentioning.
