Botswana: DCI +0.07%, USD 3.71m

A chunky day in Gaborone thanks to a large cross in FNBB (375t). There was also a decent amount of activity in Letshego (241t) and some more muted action in Sechaba (2870t) and Sefalana (1100t).

Kenya: NSE 20 +0.11%, USD 7.4m

Activity increased in Nairobi with foreigners (56%) driving proceedings as turnover amounted to $7.4m. EQBNK managed to gain +1.0% thanks to foreign demand while foreign selling pushed KNCB -0.8% lower. Safcom (+2.1%) had another good day as locals continue to buy the telco with 6m sharesx changing hands. Kenya Power was rather active as 4.82m shares traded while EABL fell -4.0% on foreign selling.

Mauritius: Semdex -0.17%, USD 4.31m

A reasonably decent day in Port Louis as some crosses in MCBG (unch, Rs197.00) went through. Outside of this the market was pretty quiet.

Nigeria: ASI +2.13%, USD 25.4m

A better day in Lagos as everyone still awaits the election results with turnover amounting to $25.4m. There was some action in DangCem ($3.43m), GTB ($3.18m), Zenith ($3.07m), NB ($2.99m) and Oando ($2.91m). Banks had another good day with the sector gaining +3.53% thanks to Zenith (+5.59%), GTB (+5.00%) and UBA (+4.37%). Solid gains in IntBrew (+5.00%), Nestle (+4.97%), Dangote Sugar (+4.93%) and Guinness (+4.91%) helped push the Consumer sector +3.43% higher.

Zimbabwe: Industrials -0.29%, USD 945k

The ZSE volumes improved somewhat although still remain light compared to historical levels. The bulk of todays action took place in Econet (50c), Innscor (55c) and Turnall (1.30c).
