Turnover was mainly geared towards Choppies ($2.9k), Letshego ($2.9k) and Sefalana($599k).
An average start to the week as turnover amounted to $6.2m as locals dominated proceedings. KNCB (-0.8%) closed lower on the back of foreign selling with 2.44m shares changing hands on the day. Local buying interest drove EABL +0.3% higher as 326k shares traded in the brewer. Locals dominated both sides of Safcom as the telco gained +0.3% on 4.79m shares. EQBNK (-3.4%) came under some serious pressure today on foreign selling as 1.04m shares traded.
The banking stocks closed the session off unchanged, MCBG reached a low of Rs29.00 before closing at Rs29.05 on the back of 24k shares traded. SMB closed flat at Rs0.97.
A decent start to the week in Lagos from an activity point of view as turnover amounted to $28.3m thanks to large crosses in the likes of Nestle ($5.17m), Mansard ($4.68m), Zenith ($2.98m), UBN ($2.71m) and ETI ($2.64m). Banks had a good start to the week with the sector gaining +1.39% thanks to UBA (+4.82%), ETI (+4.05%) and FBNH (+3.90%). Consumers (-0.27%) closed lower with UACN (-5.00%) and Cadbury (-4.97%) dragging the sector lower.

The market started the week on a depressed note with respect to activity. Top movers were Delta (Unch, 109c), Ok Zim (-5.71%, 13.20c) and TSL (-4.17%, 23c), each counter contributed $113k, $15k and $99k towards total turnover respectively.
