Botswana: DCI -0.11%, USD 2m

Another active day in Gaborone thanks to some action in Choppies (2.3m shares), FNBB (2m shares) and Letshego (1.8m shares).

Kenya: NSE 20 -0.50%, USD 6.7m

A better day in Nairobi in terms of activity, but volumes still remain very low as foreigners continue to dominate proceedings. There were a few foreign crosses in EABL (-1.4%) as 1.06m shares traded in the brewer. Safcom came under a bit of pressure with the telco falling -1.5% on 6.6m shares. EQBNK closed the day -0.6% lower on foreign selling pressure as 1.5m shares traded while KNCB (452k shares) was rather quiet.

Mauritius: Semdex +0.04%, USD 2.8

An active day in Port Louis thanks to a foreign cross in SBMH (unch, Rs0.71). There was also some action in MCBG (-50bps, Rs205.00) while the rest of the market was relatively quiet.

Nigeria: ASI -1.20%, USD 12.5m

A better day in Lagos but still nothing to write home about as most of the action was centered around GTB ($8.2m) thanks to a few crosses in the name while there was also some activity in 7UP ($1.2m). Banks continued to take a beating with the sector falling -3.07% as Zenith (-4.96%), ETI (-3.75%) and GTB (-3.63%) all came under pressure. Consumers (-1.66%) were also softer thanks to Cadbury (-4.97%), PZ Cussons (-4.86%) and NB (-3.97%).

Zimbabwe: Industrials -0.03%, USD 871k

The ZSE still fell although volumes felt as if they were trying to return in the large caps like Delta (68c) and Econet (20.99c).
