Not the best to start the week in Gaborone as Letshego (-0.01%, $557k) trading 97% of the market turnover today the only name worth noting.
The market continued its bearish trend with foreigners accounting for 88.50% of total sales. Foreigners once again were mainly selling Safaricom (+0.97%, KES26.00), EQBNK (unch, KES39.25) and EABL (unch, KES249.00) whilst locals were taking advantage of the lower prices in NIC Bank (+1.92%, KES39.75). Safaricom continued to be the most actively traded ticker accounting for 51% of total market turnover on the back of its dividend record date on 09/15/2017.
The market started the week on a positive note with all indices up in Port Louis. Again half of today’s turnover was driven by the usual banking duo MCB (+0.9%, Rs272) and SBM (0.3%, Rs7.76).
A relatively quiet day in Nigeria as all indices closed in the red except the Oil & Gas index. Nestle and Zenithbank were the most active names on the day, accounting for 33% and 21% of turnover respectively.

Some activity to kick off the trading week in Harare with Pearl (4.00c, $752k) accounting for 43% of the market. OK Zim (25.00c, $319k), Delta (182.00c, $362k) and Axia (29.20c, $174k) the only other names with some descent action.
