A decent day in Gaborone thanks to some action in Choppies as 2.6m shares changed hands.

Kenya: NSE 20 +0.64%, USD 10.6m

A rather active day in Nairobi with Safcom once again witnessing some very chunky crosses. The telco ended the day unchanged on KES20.50 with more than $5m changing hands in the name. There was also some decent action in KNCB (+1.99%, KES38.50) while the rest of the market was quiet.

Mauritius: Semdex -0.09%, USD 670k

A slow day in Port Louis with sporadic activity in a few names, but nothing worth writing home about.

Nigeria: ASI +0.11%, USD 6.9m

A much quieter session than what we have seen in recent sessions. The banks slipped by 11bps although outside of GTB (+41bps, N32.13) the sector was rather uneventful. The consumers rose by 1.40% but volumes were quiet across the board. Once again we saw a chunky cross go through in Seplat (unch, N372.70).

Zimbabwe: Industrials +1.24%, USD 472k

Some small activity in Old Mutual ($171k) the only name worth mentioning on a slow day in Harare.
