Market activity remained subdued in Gaborone as only a few counters traded today.

Kenya: NSE 20 +0.27%, USD 10.85m

An above average day on the bourse today with foreign participation accounting for 61.4% of net buying and 51.4% of sales. Equity (-0.94%, KES52.50), KCB (-3.85%, KES50.00) and Safcom (+2.50%, KES30.75) accounting for a combined total of 77% of total market turnover. EABL (+0.40%, KES254.00) and Barclays (+0.82%, KES12.30) the other counters with some decent volume.

Mauritius: Semdex -0.38%, USD 1.46m

The Mauritius bourse saw all indices close the session in the red with the Semdex falling to 2,299.59 points as total market turnover was sitting at Rs54.4m for the day. MCBG declined -0.6% closing at Rs275.25 whilst fighting a losing battle accounting for 54.5% of the market, CIM unmoved trading at Rs10.55, SBM losing ground by 0.3% declining to Rs7.62 and Lux steady trading at Rs70.00 were the only names with some decent activity.

Nigeria: ASI -0.35%, USD 10.85m

It was another negative day in Nigeria as all indices, except the consumers closed lower on the day. Guaranty and Zenith were the names with the highest turnover, accounting for 37% of total market turnover.

Zimbabwe: Industrials +0.33%, USD 1.47m

A chunky and bullish trade in Econet driving the market today on the Harare bourse. Econet ($367k) appreciated 0.29% to 68.00c and accounted for more than a third of today
