Some action in Choppies (652k shares) about the only talking point in Gaborone as value traded amounted to USD 322k.
Activity slowed down today as value traded amounted to $5.6m. A cross in CFC Stanbic drove activity with the buyer being foreign while the seller was local. EQBNK (+2.6%) had a good day on the back of foreign participation as 2.1m shares changed hands while foreign demand in KNCB (+0.5%) drove the name higher. Locals drove activity in EABL as 146k shares traded while Safcom was very quiet with only 2.74m shares traded.
The banks, yet again, were the dominant stocks in the market accounting for more than half the total turnover although Lux Island Resorts (+1.18%, Rs43) also saw decent activity for a change. MCBG gained 92bps to Rs220 while SBM closed unchanged at Rs1.05. Elsewhere in the Sem-7 ENL Land slid by 49bps to Rs50.50.
A rather slow day in Lagos as value traded amounted to $19.12m with DangCem ($3.96m) driving activity. Other notable contributors towards turnover were NB ($2.19m), Oando ($2.17m), GTB ($1.54m) and WAPCO ($1.53m). Banks closed the day slightly lower with the Index falling -0.07% with GTB (-1.67%) and ETI (-1.37%) being the worst performers. The good run in consumers (+0.72%) continued with Dangote Sugar (+3.58%) and NB (+1.52%) being the star performers.

A much better day in Harare thanks to a cross in Delta ($2.41m) as value traded amounted to USD 2.69m while only 15k Econet traded. The market managed to close the day higher with the Industrial Index gaining +0.44%.
