Another slow day in Gaborone as turnover amounted to $391k with Letshego (1.26m shares) the only name worth mentioning.
Another very active day in Nairobi as locals continue to dominate proceedings with turnover amounting to $19.6m. Local selling pressure in KNCB drove the name -6.3% lower as 5.07m shares traded in the name. Another large local cross in Centum as 4.69m shares traded as the counter closed -3.4% lower. There was also large local activity in Diamond Trust Bank as 670k shares traded. EQBNK (-3.5%) also came under pressure but from foreign sellers. EABL closed -2.9% lower as 434k shares traded in the brewer.
Things slowed down in Port Louis but it was still a respectable day as turnover amounted to $1.02m. There was some activity in MCBG (57k shares) while the other heavyweights SBMH and NMH were very quiet.
We finally saw some respite to the sell-off as the ASI bounced +1.21% albeit on below average volume of $19.8m. There was some activity in Seplat ($4.09m), GTB ($1.89m), NB ($1.83m), FBNH ($1.53m) and Zenith ($1.46m). Banks managed to close higher with the Index gaining +0.18% with good performances from GTB (+2.94%) and FBNH (+2.57%). Consumers (+3.85%) had a really good day with with the likes of NB (+6.06%), Nestle (+5.00%) and Guinness (+3.49%) leading the sector higher. WAPCO also had a strong day with the name closing +7.25% higher.

A much slower day in Harare as turnover amounted to a dull $641k with some activity in Pearl ($282k) and Econet ($146k) while the market closed lower with the Industrial Index falling -1.13%.
