An impressive day in Gaborone thanks to a cross in Sechaba (846k shares) as turnover amounted to $2.99m while there was also some action in Letshego (1.7m shares).
An impressive start to the week from an activity point of view in Nairobi as turnover amounted to $21.6m thanks to a large local cross in SCAN as 17.3m shares traded in the usually illiquid name. There was a large cross in EABL (foreign buyer/ local seller) as 1.11m shares changed hands in the brewer with the name gaining +5.4%. KNCB was also rather active as foreign demand pushed the name +1.9% higher while there was not much on the go in Safcom with 10.42m shares changing hands in the telco.
A rather slow start to the week in Port Louis as turnover amounted to $740k with some ation in MCBG (43k shares) and SBMH (3.81m shares) the only names worth mentioning.
A very satisfactory start to the week in Lagos as turnover amounted to $29.2m. There was some action in the likes of Transcorp ($7.28m), FBNH ($2.85m), GTB ($2.13m) and Seplat ($2.02m). The impressive rally in banking stocks continued with the Index gaining +6.18% thanks to large gains in Zenith (+10.17%), Access (+10.08%) and UBA (+9.79%). Consumers (+3.15%) were also very strong thanks to Guinness (+4.99%) and NB (+4.07%). It was a similar pincture in the cement sector as WAPCO and DangCem gained +4.99% and +3.13% respectively.
