Botswana: DCI +0.10%, USD 597k

The DCI improved slightly closing 8.81 points higher. Activity was dominated by an unusual suspect PRIME ($335k). There was also some small activity in NAP, Turnstar and Letshego.

Kenya: NSE 20 -22.40%, USD 10.11m

A booming day in Nairobi with foreigners doing the bulk of the purchasing accounting for about 78% in total of the market and 44% of overall sales. Safcom led the way once again unchanged trading at KES29.75, Diamond Trust also unmoved traded at KES210.00, while EQBK retreated 0.58% to close KES43.00 and KCB followed suit declining 0.55% at KES45.50.

Mauritius: Semdex +0.41%, USD 1.57m

The indices clipped higher today in Port Louis, with the Semdex up 41bps and the Sem-10 up 38bps. MCBG recovered to close +1.3% at Rs274.00 and accounting for 57% of turnover. SBMH also closed +0.3% higher at Rs7.76 dominated by foreign activity.

Nigeria: ASI +0.02%, USD 14.79m

The upward trend continued in Lagos with the financial sector appreciating 1.06% while the consumers declined 0.92%, the industrials and oil and gas following suit at 0.89% and 1.20% respectively and insurance sector advanced 0.70%. The major movers and shakers on the bourse were GTB (+1.59%, N48.00), FBNH (+2.76%, N11.15), NB (-2.73%, N124.50), Custodian (unch, N4.00) and a new comer to the top five CCNN (-4.32%, N17.70).
