A quiet day in Gaborone today.

Kenya: NSE 20 +0.04%, USD 10.76m

Safaricom traded as low as 24.50 into the close but closed at 26.75 on a day dominated by foreign selling in the name. It accounted for a total of approximately 30% of turnover on the day, as EABL, KNCB, COOP and EQBNK were the other dominant names on the day, with the four names accounting or another 55% of turnover.

Mauritius: Semdex +0.12%, USD 34.06m

A massive day in Port Louis today on the back of crosses in Lux on the crossing board, accounting for 85% of turnover. MCBG (+1.2%, Rs260) clipped higher again today, with 241k shares exchanging hands. The Semdex and the SEM-10 both closed the week higher by 0.12% and 0.26% to 2,155.47 points and 410.10 points respectively.

Nigeria: ASI -1.56%, USD 17.3m

A positive close to the week in Nigeria with block trades in tier-one banks, Zenith and Guaranty, dominating the turnover on the day. Zenith (+2.84%) and Guaranty (-0.50%) recorded $9m and $8.1m respectively, with both accounting for 65% of turnover. There was also a cross of about 54m shares of Dangsugar (-0.23%) at 20.86, as the name recorded a turnover of $3.2m.

Zimbabwe: Industrials -0.20%, USD 1.28m

Activity was muted again today as the market turnover was mainly geared towards OK ($415k), Delta ($312k) and Seedco ($307k), the names accounted for 32%, 24% and 24% respectively.
