A massive day in Gaborone with a cross in FNBB ($4.63m) dominating the market. The rest of the counters were extremely quiet.
Market turnover declined as the week started on a negative note. The holiday period seemed to have affected trading volumes, with Safaricom being the most active name on the day accounting for 63% of turnover as it closed 1.9% lower.
An average day to open the week in Port Louis today, highlighted by Lux which clipped +14.8% higher to close at Rs70.00. MCBG also closed 1.5% higher at Rs264.00.
A negative start to the week as with the Industrial heavy weight, Dangcem (-4.17%), dragging the index lower. There was an off market cross in the name for 549m shares at 225.68 ($344m) involving a local seller and a foreign buyer. Guaranty and Zenith dominated the action n the market on the day, accounting for 42% and 24% of turnover respectively.

Another lukewarm session on the Harare bourse with foreign purchases amounting to $1.11m. OML ($897k) and Delta ($225k) drove proceedings.
